HOT, DRY PATTERN CONTINUES; RAIN CHANCES RISE NEXT WEEK… Temperatures will again peak in the upper-90s in many communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday. Our local area will remain dry and hot throughout the day with passing clouds being possible this afternoon into this evening. Rain chances will remain quite low (0-10% chance range) today and into tomorrow as well. Slightly higher (10-20%) rain chances are in store for the weekend, but I expect most communities to remain dry and hot.
SECOND LANDFALL OF DEBBY IN SOUTH CAROLINA… Tropical Storm Debby made its second landfall early this morning near Bulls Bay, South Carolina. The system will finally start moving out of the Carolinas this weekend but not before dropping even more rain on saturated soils. Flash flooding will continue to be possible in parts of North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina as Debby moves north.
TROPICS QUIET AFTER DEBBY, AT LEAST TEMPORARILY… The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea are quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5 days. We will be watching multiple tropical waves in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean over the next few days, but none with immediate, imminent development concerns.

Rain chances rise next week!
2 AM – #Debby makes landfall at Bulls Bay with 50 mph winds. Bulls Bay is also the location that recorded a massive 20 ft. storm surge with Hurricane Hugo in 1989. It's still the highest surge ever recorded on the east coast. #scwx #Ncwx pic.twitter.com/efdFOvoIYu

Another hot and dry day is expected for tomorrow, with highs in the mid to upper 90s. A Heat Advisory will be in effect from 11am-7pm along the coast for heat indices up to 110. Inland, slightly lower dew points will help to keep heat indices closer to the 100-105 range. pic.twitter.com/RgLuuDDpbB
