BEAUTIFUL TUESDAY; FEW SHOWERS & STORMS TOMORROW NIGHT… Today will be about ten degrees warmer than yesterday with most spots across south Alabama and northwest Florida expected to have highs in the mid to upper 70s. Sunny skies are expected this morning with mostly sunny skies this afternoon. A few passing clouds are not completely out of the question into the evening hours. Our next chance of rain happens tomorrow night as a cold front moves through. The upcoming weekend will probably be dry for most communities with only a low-end chance of a few showers. Thunderstorms will be possible on Monday into Tuesday of the upcoming week.

DRY WEDNESDAY; RAIN AT TIMES WEDNESDAY NIGHT… Tomorrow will be a dry day with highs again in the mid to upper 70s. Some spots may briefly hit 80 degrees tomorrow afternoon. Showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible at times across south Alabama and northwest Florida on Wednesday night as a cold front crosses the region from northwest to southeast. Severe storms are not expected across south Alabama or northwest Florida. You may hear some thunder at times, however.

LOW-END SEVERE WEATHER RISK TO OUR NORTH WED. INTO WED. NIGHT…There is a low-end chance of a few strong storms across parts of northwest Alabama and north Mississippi tomorrow into tomorrow night. Any storms that ramp up to strong or marginally severe levels will be capable of producing gusty winds. The low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) risk includes Livingston, Tuscaloosa, Jasper, Cullman, Huntsville, Decatur, Moulton, Florence, Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Marion, Fayette, Aliceville, and Double Springs. The low-end risk also includes Meridian (MS), Starkville (MS), Columbus (MS), Oxford (MS), Jackson (TN), and Nashville (TN). Widespread severe storms are not expected in these communities but a few strong storms can’t completely be ruled out.

COOLER TEMPS THURSDAY; FROST POSSIBLE FRIDAY MORNING… We will have a brief cool down on Thursday with highs only expected to be in the mid 60s. Friday morning will be the chilliest morning in the next 7 days with overnight lows in the mid to upper 30s. It does not appear temperatures will get down to the freezing mark, but I can’t completely rule out some patchy frost.

MOSTLY DRY THIS WEEKEND… Rain chances are not at zero this weekend, but I expect most communities to remain dry. Highs will be in the upper 70s on both Saturday and Sunday.

STORMS POSSIBLE MONDAY… Our next chance of thunderstorms happens on Monday, March 24 as a frontal boundary approaches from the northwest. We note the Storm Prediction Center has included areas to our northwest in a severe weather outlook zone valid on Sunday. That zone does not include any part of Alabama or northwest Florida. We could have a few strong to severe storms around on Monday, but it is far too early for any specifics. We will be in the peak of our severe weather season through early May, thus systems coming through and prompting the risk of severe storms this time of year are completely normal.
