SPOTTY STORMS DRIFTING EAST… Thunderstorms have lingered a bit longer than expected on this Friday. At the moment, downpours are happening near Molino, Johnsonville, Paul, Melrose, Brooklyn, Red Level, Geneva, Samson, and DeFuniak Springs.
Some of the high school football games across northern Covington County may be affected by these storms, drifting east at 20 mph.

SCATTERED STORMS MOVING EAST… Downpours are happening this evening near Dixonville, Bradley, Bethel, Sellersville, FLorala, Lockhart, Paxton, Mossy Head, Crestview, Deerland, Eglin AFB, Niceville, and Samson.
These scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to progress eastward over the next few hours.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 9, located near the eastern tip of Cuba, will move north through The Bahamas this weekend.
PTC9 will very likely become a tropical storm, taking the name “Imelda.”

NHC will initiate advisories on Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine (formerly AL94), located near eastern Cuba, at 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC).

I suspect we will get the first advisory on a “potential tropical cyclone” at 5PM EDT so tropical storm watches and warnings can be issued for parts of The Bahamas.
