RAIN LIKELY AT TIMES MONDAY NIGHT; HURRICANE SEASON ENDS NOW… Get ready for what could be the most beneficial rain event south Alabama and northwest Florida have had in quite some time. Rain becomes likely tomorrow (Monday) evening into tomorrow night. Widespread rain totals of 1-3″ are likely across the region. Rain will be falling in a cool, stable air mass for most of us, meaning the overall chance of any severe thunderstorms remains quite low. Isolated sprinkles and showers will be possible during the daytime hours of Monday, but the heavier rain is expected tomorrow after sunset.

SEVERE WEATHER SETUP UNLIKELY… I will be monitoring the northward advancement of a warm front near the northwest Florida coast tomorrow night. IF (and that is a big IF) the warm front happens to move north of the coast, that would mean a small part of northwest Florida (specifically in areas south of I-10) could have a low-end risk of a few strong to severe storms. For now, the odds of the warm front ever making it onshore are rather low. We note the Storm Prediction Center has NOT included any part of the local area in any severe weather risk zone tomorrow. That is a good sign as SPC won’t hesitate to include areas in a low-end risk if it sees fit. I’ll have an update on this in the morning video tomorrow by 7:15AM.

2025 HURRICANE SEASON ENDS TONIGHT… The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially ends today. 13 named storms happened this year, of which 5 became hurricanes and 4 of those became major hurricanes. This was the first season since 2005 that had three category 5 hurricanes (Erin, Humberto, and Melissa). This was also the quietest hurricane season for the Gulf region since 2014. No tropical storms or hurricanes made landfall along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Only one tropical storm (Chantal) made landfall along the U.S. East Coast. No hurricane landfalls happened along the U.S. coast.
