4:33AM: ALL CLEAR; DAMAGING WIND & TORNADO RISK ENDS… The risk of tornadoes and damaging wind gusts has now dropped to zero as a line of strong to severe storms moves to our east. The severe weather risk has ended for communities near and WEST of Opp, Crestview, and Destin. All clear for southwest Alabama and northwest Florida. Rain and thunder will continue to be possible over the next several hours. The morning commute may be wet for some across the region as intermittent showers continue. The threat of hazardous weather, however, has come to an end.
RISK CONTINUES TO OUR EAST… At the time I am writing this at 4:32AM, three tornado warnings are in progress in parts of Henry and Houston counties in southeast Alabama with multiple confirmed tornadoes in progress. Tornado Warnings are also happening in parts of Georgia this morning. The line of storms will continue moving east over the next several hours.
NUMEROUS REPORTS OF TREES DOWN IN SOUTHEAST MS & WEST AL… Numerous reports of trees down have come in to the Storm Prediction Center over the last number of hours. Multiple trees have been reported down in parts of Clarke and Choctaw counties. At least some of the damage in parts of western Clarke County will be investigated as possible tornado track, most likely. We covered the tornado warning that happened at West Bend and Coffeeville. At least one Tornadic Debris Signature was observed in Mobile County near Semmes as well.
