SCATTERED SHOWERS POSSIBLE TODAY; HURRICANE RAFAEL TO REMAIN TO OUR SOUTH THRU WEEKEND… Sprinkles and areas of showers will be possible across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday. Widespread severe storms won’t happen, but I can’t completely rule out a few claps of thunder in any storms that develop before the end of the day. High temperatures will be in the low-80s. Rain chances will remain low, but not entirely zero, over the next few days.

HURRICANE RAFAEL TO REMAIN TO OUR SOUTH THRU WEEKEND… More data surrounding Hurricane Rafael has revealed good news for our local area and much of the northern Gulf Coast. Rafael will likely remain well to the south of our local area with no significant impacts in the forecast locally. Hurricane Rafael will move west across the central Gulf of Mexico today into tomorrow ahead of a slower motion to the west this weekend. The storm will stall out over the west-central Gulf while weakening due to increased atmospheric shear. I will continue to monitor Rafael throughout the day and let you know if any more notable forecast changes arise.
