MOSTLY SUNNY, WARM TUESDAY; MORE WARM WEATHER THRU END OF WEEK… Other than a few passing clouds, today will be another nice, mostly sunny weather day. Rain chances today, for the first time in a long time, are not COMPLETELY zero. The chance of rain for any one spot remains quite low, but not entirely zero. There may be a few, highly spaced, small showers this afternoon into this evening. The greatest chance of any showers happening will be close to the Alabama beaches in areas south of I-10. Unfortunately, the vast majority of us across south Alabama and northwest Florida will miss the rain today. High temperatures today will be in the mid-80s across the region.
A FEW WIDELY SCATTERED SHOWERS TODAY… I was tempted to make the leading headline, “A few tiny showers possible near the coast today,” but I decided not to go with that as rain chances remain very, very low. The chance of rain in any given locale across the region today is in the 0-5% chance range. See the projected radar loop in the video to see what I mean – showers will be very few in number and widely spaced. Most locations across the region will remain dry.
UNSEASONABLY WARM OVER NEXT FEW DAYS; WARM FOR HALLOWEEN… High temperatures will continue to be in the mid-80s over the next few days, including on Thursday for Halloween. The Halloween evening hours will feature temperatures in the 70s, falling into the 60s by 8-9PM. If you are headed out for trick-or-treating, our local weather should be nice. Just like previous years, I will be passing out candy near downtown Brewton, AL. Hope to see many of you!
TROPICAL DISTURBANCE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP IN CARIBBEAN SEA… The National Hurricane Center continues to suggest there is a 40-50% chance of a tropical storm developing in the southern or central Caribbean Sea later this week or into the weekend. The system will likely move toward Cuba and/or Jamaica. It remains too early to know where this system will ultimately end up. I will have more updates on this developing system over the next few days posted in the RedZone Weather app.
