RAIN RETURNS THIS WEEKEND… Rain becomes likely as we get into the weekend as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Very cold temps (highs in 40s, lows in 20s) coming back next week!

PARTLY CLOUDY TODAY; MORE COLD NIGHTS AHEAD… Skies will be partly cloudy on this Tuesday with high temperatures slated to be in the mid 50s. We have a few cold nights ahead with overnight lows set to be at or below the freezing mark through Thursday morning. High temperatures will moderate a bit in the days ahead with 60s likely by the time we get to Friday. Rain returns to our area on Friday into Saturday ahead of the arrival of a cold front that will usher in colder, drier air next week. High temperatures next week will be in the 40s with morning lows well below freezing for several consecutive nights.

RAIN LIKELY AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… Isolated rain showers will become possible on Thursday, particularly in areas closer to the coast as an area of low pressure moves by to our south in the central Gulf of Mexico. Not all communities will have rain on Thursday. Showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will happen region wide, however, on Saturday as a cold front approaches from our northwest.

VERY COLD TEMPERATURES NEXT WEEK… We have another Arctic blast of very cold air set to arrive on Sunday into Monday. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid-50s with highs only in the low to mid 40s on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the upcoming week. For now, I do not see any signs of any snow or mixed precipitation in the forecast for south Alabama or northwest Florida. The large scale pattern would be supportive for snow across parts of the Deep South next week IF we see any “precipitation makers” (areas of low pressure, etc.) but for now, no concrete signs of any snow for our area. If this changes, I will let you know.
