RAIN RETURNS TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING… Cloud coverage will increase across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Monday ahead of increasing rain chances tonight into Tuesday. High temperatures will be in the upper-50s and near 60 in most spots today. We have a 70-80% chance of rain in the overnight hours, extending into early Tuesday morning. Overnight lows will be in the low-40s. No real chance of any wintry mischief or snow with this passing system in our local area. Skies will begin to clear Tuesday afternoon ahead of a slew of nice, cool, late January days. A few more Monday morning forecast notes are below.
INCREASING CLOUDINESS TODAY… Clouds will increase in coverage this afternoon across the region. Overcast skies are likely by the time we get to sunset (at 5:16PM). High temperatures on this Monday will be in the upper-50s across the region.
RAIN LIKELY TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY… An area of low pressure that will pass well to our south across the central Gulf of Mexico will cause scattered to numerous showers across the region tonight into Tuesday morning. The greatest chance of rain will happen from 11PM tonight to 11AM on Tuesday. Severe weather is not expected and the overall risk of any thunderstorms happening is very low due to basically no surface-based instability. Skies will gradually clear on Tuesday afternoon into the evening hours.
SUNNY SKIES WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY… Full sunshine is expected on both Wednesday and Thursday. High temperatures will be in the low- to mid-50s each day. Overnight lows Wednesday night will likely be at or just below the freezing mark in many locales.
MAINLY SUNNY FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY… High temperatures will continue to be in the 50s on Friday and Saturday. We note that Friday night into Saturday may be particularly cold with overnight lows in the mid-20s.
