SUNNY, NICE DAYS INTO THE WEEKEND; MUCH COOLER AIR COMING NEXT WEEK… Warm temperatures will persist into the weekend with highs slated to be in the mid-80s today, tomorrow, and on Saturday. Overnight lows will consistently be in the upper-50s inland and near 60 closer to the coast. Full sunshine is in the forecast today and into the weekend as well. Looking ahead, cooler temperatures will be our weather headline into next week as a cold front approaches.

COLD FRONT TO CROSS THE AREA MONDAY NIGHT… Just in time for Halloween, high temperatures on Tuesday will fall into the 70s or perhaps even the upper-60s with cold nights in store next week. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s by Wednesday morning as an increasingly cold air mass takes hold across much of the continental United States. Unfortunately, this cold front looks to be completely dry with no rain in the forecast early next week. That means that ongoing drought conditions will continue to worsen across the region.

TROPICAL UPDATE… Hurricane Otis made landfall yesterday in the early morning hours as a rare, category 5 hurricane on the Pacific coast of Mexico near Acapulco. Otis is officially the strongest recorded hurricane to ever make landfall on the Pacific coast of Mexico. The Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea remain quiet with no new tropical storms expected to form in the next 5-7 days. Hurricane Tammy is expected to become an extratropical system later today. Impacts from Tammy will be possible in Bermuda in the days ahead.

SUNNY SKIES TODAY; WARM DAYS CONTINUE INTO WEEKEND… Plenty of sunshine is in the forecast for south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Wednesday. High temperatures will again be in the mid-80s across the region. Unfortunately, we continue to see signs of no rainfall in the 7-10 day range, meaning ongoing drought conditions across the region will continue to worsen. On the bright side, we have a nice, sunny few days ahead. High temperatures will be in the 80s into the weekend with morning lows in the upper-50s and near 60 degrees.

TROPICAL UPDATE… Hurricane Tammy continues to move northeast in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda and the northern Leeward Islands. Tammy is forecast to continue moving northeast before looping back to the west this weekend into early next week, likely as a weaker post-tropical disturbance. Interests in Bermuda should closely monitor the progress of Hurricane Tammy. Elsewhere in the Atlantic Basin, including in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, conditions are quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days.

MORE SUNSHINE TODAY; WARM TEMPS THIS AFTERNOON… Sunny skies are in the forecast on this Tuesday across south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the mid-80s today. Unfortunately, we do not have any rain in the forecast over the next 7 days as ongoing drought conditions continue to worsen. We do have a gorgeous, sunny weekend ahead with highs slated to be in the mid- to upper-80s Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

TROPICAL UPDATE… Hurricane Tammy continues to move north across the southwestern Atlantic Ocean on this Tuesday. Tammy is forecast to remain over the open waters of the Atlantic while pushing northeast over the next few days. The storm may approach Bermuda this weekend as a post-tropical system. The Gulf of Mexico remains quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days. A tropical disturbance near Nicaragua in the Caribbean Sea is likely to produce heavy rainfall across parts of Central America over the next few days. Further development of this system seems unlikely.
