MAINLY SUNNY TODAY; THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY FRIDAY INTO THE WEEKEND… Mostly sunny skies this morning will give way to a more cloudy sky later this evening with high temperatures near the 60 degree mark on this Wednesday. No rain is expected locally today but we will have quite a bit of rain (and probably thunderstorms) around on Friday and into the weekend. High temperatures will be in the mid-60s tomorrow with dry conditions during the daytime hours. Rain will become possible Thursday night into Friday across the local area.
SEVERE WEATHER RISK SETS UP TO OUR WEST TOMORROW… The Storm Prediction Center has included much of east Texas and western Louisiana in severe weather risk zones valid for Thursday. A Level 2 (out of 5) severe weather risk is in place for Houston, Galveston, Lufkin, and Orange, Texas. A few tornadoes and damaging wind gusts will be possible tomorrow in and near these cities. This same weather system will approach our region Thursday night into Friday.
RAIN & STORMS LIKELY LOCALLY FRIDAY… Multiple waves of rain and thunderstorms are likely on Friday, Saturday, and into Sunday. There is a chance we may have a few strong to severe storms around on Friday or Saturday, with a focus for stronger storms probably happening near the immediate coast. Temperatures will rise into the 70s for afternoon highs on Friday and Saturday.
HURRICANE SEASON ENDS TOMORROW… The 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season is set to come to an end tomorrow (Thursday, November 30). No new tropical storms are expected to develop across the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, or the Atlantic Ocean anytime soon. The 2023 season featured 21 tropical depressions, 20 tropical storms, 7 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes. The strongest hurricane was Hurricane Lee that peaked at category 5 intensity over the Atlantic Ocean.

MOSTLY SUNNY & COOL TODAY… Skies will be mostly sunny on this Wednesday with highs in the upper-50s. Some communities may briefly be in the low-60s by 2PM. No rain today but rain comes back into the forecast on Friday and Saturday.
STORMS RETURN FRIDAY; GET READY FOR A WET WEEKEND… Multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms are likely on Friday and into the weekend. Rain amounts will generally vary between 2 and 4 inches in total locally through Sunday. There may be a few stronger storms around on Friday but it is a bit too early for specifics.

RAIN AND STORMS LIKELY FRIDAY AND INTO WEEKEND… Temperatures will be quite cold tonight with lows in the 20s inland. We quickly rise into the 70s by Friday and into the weekend. Rain and thunderstorms likely Friday and into the weekend.
LOWS NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING TONIGHT; RAIN & STORMS THIS WEEKEND… Tonight will be the coldest night of the week with overnight lows in the 20s in many communities across inland areas of southwest Alabama. Before we get there, a chilly Tuesday is on tap with skies becoming sunny throughout the day. High temperatures will only be in the upper-50s in many communities across the region. Temperatures will rebound in the days ahead with Wednesday and Thursday likely featuring highs in the 60s.
RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY FRIDAY INTO WEEKEND… Beneficial rain is in the forecast on Friday and into the weekend with multiple rounds of rain and storms being likely. The first round of rain and thunderstorms is likely on Friday when scattered showers and thunderstorms will move from southwest to northeast across the region. There is a chance we may have a few stronger thunderstorms around, particularly in communities closer to the coast. High temperatures on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be in the 70s with morning lows in the 50s and 60s.
TROPICS QUIET; HURRICANE SEASON ENDS THURSDAY… The entirety of the Atlantic Basin, including the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, remains quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 7 days. The tropics are likely “done for the year.” The 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season will officially end this Thursday, November 30.

WARMER TEMPS LATER THIS WEEK… Rain and thunderstorms will come back into our forecast by Friday. There is a chance, under some scenarios, we may have a few strong or severe storms around. Highs will be in the 50s today and tomorrow ahead of highs in the 70s later this week.
COOL DAYS, COLD NIGHTS THROUGH MIDWEEK; RAIN & STORMS BY FRIDAY… Keep the jackets close by today as high temperatures will only be in the upper-50s across much of the region on this Monday. Partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day on this Monday. More sunshine is in store for Tuesday and Wednesday but temperatures will continue to be rather chilly with highs in the 50s and 60s. Overnight lows will be in the 30s over the next few mornings with Wednesday morning likely to feature temperatures near or just below freezing.
LOWS NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING…Temperatures will be at or just below the freezing mark in many communities across the region on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Some locales farther inland may briefly get down to 27-28ยฐ, particularly near places like Thomasville, Monroeville, Beatrice, and Greenville.
RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY FRIDAY INTO WEEKEND… An area of low pressure is expected to develop to our west later this week and ultimately move across south Alabama and northwest Florida on Friday or into the upcoming weekend. Some scenarios point to the potential for strong to severe storms being possible across parts of the Deep South on Friday or Saturday. It is a bit too early for specifics but something we will be monitoring over the next several days.
