COOL, CLOUDY LEAP DAY; RAIN & STORMS TO RETURN FRIDAY AND INTO WEEKEND… Temperatures will be about 20 degrees colder at any given point throughout the day on this Leap Day 2024 compared to yesterday. High temperatures on this Thursday will only be in the upper-50s and low-60s. Keep the jackets handy throughout the day! While a few sprinkles and a shower or two cannot completely be ruled out today, most communities will remain dry. Tomorrow is a different story, however, with rain being likely at times throughout the day. Wet, unsettled conditions will persist into the weekend as well.

RAIN & STORMS LIKELY FRIDAY… Rain will be possible throughout the day on Friday as a southwesterly flow aloft pumps a continuous stream of moisture across our region. Thunderstorms will be possible as well, although I am not expecting severe weather issues. Any tangible instability should remain fairly elevated in the atmosphere, thus limiting any significant severe storm development. High temperatures on Friday will be in the mid-60s.

RAIN CHANCES INTO THE WEEKEND… Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible on Saturday and Sunday. Neither day is expected to have rain last all day, but we will likely have intermittent periods of rain and perhaps a few thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the low-70s on Saturday and Sunday.
