MOSTLY SUNNY MORNING; ISOLATED SHOWERS POSSIBLE THIS EVENING… Mostly sunny skies this morning will give way to a few more clouds pushing in from the northwest this afternoon into this evening as a cold front approaches. This frontal boundary may provide just enough of a spark for a few showers and thunderstorms to develop as we get into the evening hours. The chance of rain for any given community across south Alabama and northwest Florida remains quite low (10%), meaning MOST of us across the region will remain completely dry today. High temperatures will surge into the mid 80s ahead of the passage of the cold front tonight. Slightly cooler temperatures will happen tomorrow into Thursday ahead of our next rain chance this weekend.
SUNNY, MILD DAYS AND CLEAR, COOL NIGHTS COMING UP… Full sunshine is expected across the region on Wednesday and Thursday. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s and near the 80 degree mark. Overnight lows tomorrow morning and on Thursday morning will be in the mid 40s. Friday is also expected to be a dry, sunny day with afternoon highs near the 80 degree mark.
RAIN POSSIBLE AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… Unsettled weather is set to return on Saturday into Sunday. Rain chances will start out fairly low on Saturday before gradually rising in the afternoon and evening hours. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Saturday night into Sunday. For now, the overall severe weather risk remains low. This could change in the days ahead, but for now, parameters do not seem supportive for severe storms.
TROPICS: GULF CONTINUES TO BE QUIET… No tropical storms are expected to develop in the Gulf over the next 5-7 days. The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season will officially end on Sunday, November 30.
TROPICS: CARIBBEAN DISTURBANCE LIKELY TO DEVELOP INTO TROPICAL STORM… We continue to monitor an area of disturbed weather in the eastern Caribbean Sea associated with a tropical wave that is moving westward. This disturbance will very likely (80% chance) become a named tropical storm today or in the days ahead. Most of the global model guidance continues to show movement to the north but there continue to be big question marks as to which of the islands to the north may be impacted by this system. Interests in Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands should closely monitor the progress of this system. For now, odds of the system moving into the Gulf remain quite low. Next tropical name when/if this system develops will be Melissa.
