WARM TEMPERATURES TODAY, THIS WEEKEND, AND INTO THANKSGIVING WEEK… Afternoon highs will be in the low 80s in many communities across the region on this Wednesday. No rain is expected across the local area today but we are looking ahead to Friday and Saturday when a few showers may become possible. If your specific location misses the rain this weekend, we have another chance of rain on Tuesday of the upcoming week. Early indications for the forecast for Thanksgiving Day look mild/warm.
DRY CONDITIONS TO PERSIST THROUGH TOMORROW… Cloud coverage will increase overnight into Thursday, but I am not expecting rain across south Alabama or northwest Florida until Friday. Highs will be in the low 80s today AND tomorrow. Overnight lows around 6AM Thursday will be in the mid to upper 50s.
SHOWERS POSSIBLE AT TIMES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY… Let me be clear in saying I suspect the rain that happens locally on Friday and Saturday won’t be a big, needed rainfall event for much of the region. We probably will have a few spotty showers around on Friday and Saturday with rain totals stacking up to generally less than one half inch of rain in total. Spotty showers will be possible through the day on Friday, Friday night, and into Saturday.
ANOTHER RAIN CHANCE NEXT WEEK… Timing details are a bit fuzzy but we’re looking at another chance of rain likely around Tuesday of the upcoming week. This will probably be a rather quick-hitting system that brings rain to much of the region. Too early to know if severe storms will be a real possibility but that is something I will be monitoring carefully over the next few days.
EARLY LOOK AT THANKSGIVING DAY FORECAST… We’re still 8 days out from Thanksgiving Day. Forecast changes WILL be possible between now and then. A first look at the overall pattern, however, highlights the likelihood of above average temperatures. High temperatures will probably be in the 60s and 70s.
TROPICS REMAIN QUIET… The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially comes to an end on Sunday, November 30. We probably have seen the final named storm (Melissa) of the season. The Gulf, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean remain quiet with no new named storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days.
