UPDATED FORECAST SHOWS TEMPS AS LOW AS 19-21° INLAND MONDAY NIGHT… Hard freeze conditions, meaning the air temperature will be 28° or lower for at least one hour, are expected across part of the local area Monday night into Tuesday morning. The attached map shows projected air temperatures at 6AM Tuesday morning. Projected temperatures have trended downward a bit. A Freeze Watch is now in place for all local counties all the way down to the beaches across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Most communities will remain above the freezing mark tonight ahead of high temperatures only in the upper 40s and low 50s tomorrow.

WINDY CONDITIONS EXPECTED MONDAY… In addition to the cold temperatures in place throughout the day tomorrow, wind gusts will be as high as 15-20 mph throughout the day. This brisk, northwest wind will make the air feel quite a bit colder. Tomorrow will be a day that we all should keep the jackets and gloves close by all day. Temperatures will quickly plunge into the 30s after sunset tomorrow evening.

NO PRECIP LOCALLY; SNOW FLURRIES ACROSS FAR NORTHEAST ALABAMA TOMORROW… No snow or mixed precipitation is expected anytime soon across south Alabama or northwest Florida but the very cold air mass in place across the Deep South will support the potential for a few snow flurries across northeast Alabama, north Georgia, and eastern Tennessee tomorrow, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours. Flurries in Alabama will probably be limited to DeKalb, Cherokee, and Jackson counties in the higher terrain.
