SCATTERED STORMS POSSIBLE THIS EVENING; COOLER, DRIER AIR ARRIVES TONIGHT… Storms across east Mississippi did not materialize overnight as expected so we will likely have a drier day overall with a limited coverage of storms later today. It certainly won’t rain all day in any given community, but we will have scattered storms around at times as we get into the evening hours. Some of the storms could be severe with gusty winds, hail, and perhaps a tornado or two. Please have a way to hear urgent weather warnings in the hours ahead, specifically this evening. Rain and storms will clear to our east overnight, paving the way for a drier Wednesday. Colder temperatures are ahead for Thanksgiving Day.

SEVERE WEATHER TIMING – TODAY INTO TONIGHT… We have a very low-end severe weather risk over the next several hours and into the afternoon hours. The overall risk picks up a bit this evening after 5PM and will last until storms clear to our east around midnight or 1AM. This will be a very scattered event in nature, meaning some spots may not get much rain at all.

COOLER & DRIER CONDITIONS FOR WEDNESDAY… Showers will be possible before daybreak tomorrow morning. Clouds will continue pushing to the east through the morning hours before clearing skies happen late morning into the afternoon hours. High temperatures on Wednesday will be in the upper 60s further inland with 70s likely closer to the coast.

COLDER TEMPS FOR THANKSGIVING DAY… Afternoon highs on Thanksgiving Day will be in the upper 50s and low 60s. Dry conditions are expected throughout the day with full sunshine. The afternoon should be quite nice and supportive of outdoor activities.

MOSTLY SUNNY ON BLACK FRIDAY… We start Friday morning around the freezing mark before rebounding to the upper 50s and low 60s for afternoon highs. Plenty of sunshine is expected throughout the day on Friday.

CHILLY TEMPS IN AUBURN FOR IRON BOWL… Temperatures on Saturday across the southern part of Alabama and northwest Florida will rise into the low 60s. Rain chances in Auburn, AL for the Iron Bowl are low (10% chance) with temperatures expected to be around the 50 degree mark for the 6:30PM CST kickoff as the Alabama Crimson Tide comes to town to take on the Auburn Tigers. Skies will be mostly cloudy. The game will probably end with temperatures in the upper 40s.

MORE RAIN & STORMS POSSIBLE SUNDAY INTO MONDAY… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will become possible across parts of the Deep South, including locally across south Alabama and northwest Florida, on Sunday into Monday. It is a bit too early for specific details but be aware we probably will have rain around at times. The overall pattern will probably remain unsettled into Tuesday of the upcoming week as well with multiple chances of rain.
