HIGHS IN 50s TODAY; WARMER TEMPS TOMORROW AND SATURDAY… After the passage of a weak cold front, we have slightly cooler temperatures in store on this Thursday compared to yesterday. Afternoon highs will only be in the upper 50s today. Warmer temperatures are on the way for tomorrow and Saturday. Highs will be in the upper 60s tomorrow and low 70s on Saturday. We will have some temperature swings over the next 7-10 days. That type of “roller coaster pattern” is normal for this time of year. Due to our low latitude, it hardly ever “gets cold and stays cold.” Cold air intrusions that last for a few days, however, are common in December, January, and February. Fortunately, I see no signs of any severe weather issues over the next several days. Good news!
A FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE SAT. NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING… Our next chance of rain happens this weekend, specifically on Saturday night into Sunday morning as another cold front approaches from the northwest. This does not look like a big rain event – quite the opposite. Most locations will likely remain dry with only isolated showers being possible.
COLDER TEMPS EARLY NEXT WEEK… Cold air returns for Monday and Tuesday. Afternoon highs will only be in the 50s with overnight lows in the 30s. There is an off chance that some communities dip into the 20s Monday night. This is something I’ll be monitoring in the model guidance over the next few days.
