ISOLATED SHOWERS POSSIBLE TODAY AND TOMORROW… Small, highly isolated rain showers will be possible across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Tuesday. The greatest rain chances locally will be in areas west of the Alabama River in parts of west Alabama today. This means that, unfortunately, MOST communities across the region will remain dry. The greatest chances of any showers happening today will be between 2PM and 6PM. One or two thunderstorms can’t be completely ruled out. Tomorrow will be quite similar to today with spotty showers being possible. Afternoon high temperatures today will be in the low 80s inland with upper 70s likely closer to the beaches.
SLIGHTLY INCREASED RAIN CHANCES TOMORROW… Widespread rain is NOT expected tomorrow, but we probably will see a slight uptick in the overall coverage of showers tomorrow afternoon. Highs on Wednesday will be in the low 80s.
MAINLY DRY THURSDAY… Thursday will be a drier day, overall, with low-end (<10%) rain chances. This means that nearly all of us across the region on Thursday will be dry. High temperatures will again be in the low 80s. SCATTERED SHOWERS POSSIBLE FRIDAY… Considerable uncertainty exists on Friday as a frontal boundary approaches our region from the northwest. Some of the major global weather models have pointed to the potential for widespread rain and a few thunderstorms. Other models, however, point to conditions being much drier. For now, I have included a 20-30% chance of rain in the forecast on Friday, but please understand we may have to raise or lower that chance depending on the exact setup later this week.
ROUND OF STORMS POSSIBLE EASTER SUNDAY… Spotty showers may be possible on Saturday but the higher rain chances this weekend likely set up for Sunday as a cold front approaches. Scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will be possible on Easter Sunday. For now, the overall severe weather parameters remain low, but this is something I will be closely monitoring over the next few days.
COOLER AIR ARRIVES MONDAY… High temperatures will drop back into the 70s on Monday and Tuesday of the upcoming week. Cooler, drier air will bring an end to the pattern supporting rainfall. Overnight lows will be in the 50s early next week.
