BEAUTIFUL WEATHER THIS WEEKEND WITH WARM TEMPS… This will be a perfect weekend for outdoor activities with mostly sunny skies in the forecast today, tomorrow, and on Sunday. High temperatures will be in the low 80s today with mid 80s expected for highs on Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will generally be in the mid to upper 50s. Unfortunately, we do not have any rainfall in the forecast over the next several days. The next 7 days look dry. The consolation prize is we have beautiful weather in store into next week.
DROUGHT WORSENS… The U.S. Drought Monitor released their weekly drought update yesterday, indicating much of the local area is in the severe to extreme drought zones. Drought will continue to get worse before it gets better as the next 7-10 days look dry across south Alabama and northwest Florida.

CSU is calling for 13 named storms, 6 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes. The reasoning for the forecast for a below normal season is because a strong El Niño is developing in the Pacific Ocean. This phenomena usually inhibits development of tropical storms in the Atlantic Basin.
