SPOTTY STORMS DEVELOPING… Isolated showers and thunderstorms are popping up as we approach midday in parts of coastal Alabama and northwest Florida.

Storms will increase in coverage over the next several hours. Not every community will have rain before the end of the day, but I am expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms into this evening.

Here is the first advisory package for newly designated Tropical Storm Cristobal (pronounced krees-TOH-bahl).

Cristobal is located well away from land in the open waters of the north-central Atlantic Ocean.

The storm is expected to dissipate tomorrow.
