COLD FRIDAY; SHOWERS POSSIBLE SUNDAY… WARMING TEMPS THIS WEEKEND & NEXT WEEK… High temperatures will struggle again to get to the 50 degree mark in many communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Friday. Cold temperatures will persist into the overnight hours with many communities dropping near or below the freezing mark by 6AM Saturday. While we have a cold day and a cold night ahead, the warming trend IS underway although it will be gradual. High temperatures on Saturday will be closer to the 60 degree mark.
FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE SUNDAY… Rain will be possible on Sunday in the form of widely scattered showers. Most of the rain will probably remain offshore in the northern Gulf but a few showers will be possible across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Any showers that happen won’t last long and won’t bring excessive rain amounts to any community across the region. Most locales will probably remain dry due to the highly scattered nature of the showers on Sunday. High temperatures on Sunday will be around the 60 degree mark.
WARMING TREND NEXT WEEK; RAIN LATE IN THE WEEK… Tired of the cold weather? Many people are across our region. There is good news if you’re one of these folks as we have warmer weather coming next week. High temperatures on Monday will be in the upper 60s with mid 70s likely for Tuesday and Wednesday. Overnight lows will be in the 40s. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be dry days with rain becoming likely on Thursday. It is too early to know if severe storms will be a realistic possibility, but we are going into our peak severe weather season over the next several weeks. Any systems like this that move through will need to be monitored carefully.
