Rain chances are set to rise again as we get into the weekend. It will not rain all day on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, but we will have pop-up thunderstorms around at times, particularly in the P.M. hours.
We may get a break from the rain around the middle part of the upcoming https://t.co/Twz3Zn64vQ

POP-UP STORMS AT TIMES TODAY, BUT NOT AS MANY AS PREVIOUS DAYS… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will happen across south Alabama and northwest Florida but I am not expecting AS many showers and thunderstorms compared to previous days. Spotty showers and storms will be most https://t.co/ANusRbbWfj

Spotty showers and storms will be most likely to develop today between 10AM and 5PM. Widespread severe storms are not expected today and the overall tornado risk remains very low, if not near zero in most spots. High temperatures will be in the mid 80s today. Rain chances will likely increase somewhat as we go into the weekend. There are early signs, however, that we may get somewhat of a break from the pop-up storms around the middle part of the upcoming week.
WEEKEND FORECAST: POP-UP STORMS, MOSTLY IN P.M. HOURS… Scattered thunderstorms will be possible tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday with most of the storms happening in the P.M. hours. That isn’t to say some spots won’t have a few storms in the morning hours, but the greatest coverage of storms will clearly happen in the afternoon and evening hours. It will NOT rain all day in any given community across the region but where storms fire up, expect downpours with quite a bit of lightning and thunder involved as well. High temperatures will be in the 80s through the weekend with morning lows in the upper 60s.
EARLY NEXT WEEK: MORE P.M. STORMS… Rain chances will remain high with pop-up storms being the norm into Monday and Tuesday. Lower (not zero, but lower) rain chances seem likely by Wednesday and Thursday of the upcoming week. High temperatures will continue to be in the 80s with morning lows in the 60s.
2026 ATLANTIC HURRICANE SEASON STARTS MONDAY… The 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially kicks off this coming Monday, June 1. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released their annual hurricane season forecast last week. NOAA is projecting a below normal hurricane season due to the expectation of El Niño developing. The agency is calling for 8-14 named storms, 3-6 hurricanes, and 1-3 major hurricanes across the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, and the Gulf.

We will have pop-up showers and thunderstorms around this afternoon into this evening, but probably not AS many as previous days.
Scattered downpours will be possible at times later today. High temperatures will be in the mid 80s.
Have a nice Thursday! 👍 https://t.co/wxVYaHO5T0
