🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day. 🇺🇸 We are flying yellow flags in Orange Beach today – Tuesday, November 11th. Yellow Flags represent a medium hazard and urge caution to anyone entering the Gulf. 🎥: Cotton Bayou Beach. @spann #alwx pic.twitter.com/3fOJNpQs5U

COLD START FOR VETERANS DAY; WARMING TREND STARTS TODAY… We honor all of the veterans and military folks who are serving and have served our nation today. Thank you for loving America and thank you for your service! A Freeze Warning continues over the next couple of hours due to very cold temperatures in place across the Deep South this morning. Temperatures were running about 30 degrees below our climatological norms for this time of year with some communities starting in the low 20s this morning. Temperatures will rebound into the mid to upper 50s this afternoon. Full sunshine is expected throughout the day on this Tuesday.
NOT AS COLD TONIGHT – STILL QUITE CHILLY… Most communities across the region will dip into the 30s overnight. I wouldn’t be surprised if some locales briefly hit 32° by 6AM tomorrow, particularly communities further inland north of US84. Most of us will settle in the mid to upper 30s overnight. Clear skies are expected tonight.
HIGHS IN THE 70s TOMORROW AND THURSDAY; SUNNY DAYS AHEAD… Temperatures will quickly rebound into the low to mid 70s for afternoon highs on Wednesday. 70s are likely for highs on Thursday as well. Sunshine is expected Wednesday, Thursday, into Friday.
RAIN AND STORMS POSSIBLE SUNDAY INTO MONDAY… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will become possible on Sunday and Monday as an area of low pressure approaches from the west. This looks like a classic, cold season “high shear, low CAPE/instability” event. This means we may have a low-end severe weather risk set up. It is too early for specific details – for now, be aware we will probably have some rain around on Sunday with at least some chance of storms being involved. I’ll have updates posted over the next few days in the RedZone Weather app.
APP… If you haven’t already downloaded the RedZone Weather app, now is a great time to do that. redzoneweather.com/app is the link to the free download. Once you have the RZW app installed on your iOS or Android device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab to turn on the specific notifications you’d like to receive. All notifications are handcrafted by me. No automation and we promise not to bug you!
See all the details in your Tuesday morning RedZone Weather forecast video. My next forecast video will be posted by 7:15AM tomorrow morning. I will have updates posted throughout the day, as needed, in the RedZone Weather app.
Today is a bad day to conduct burning across the region. Strong wind gusts and very low humidity create a perfect environment for controlled burns to get out of control quickly.
A few wildfires also possible today. https://t.co/ZxhDOoQLm8
