ISOLATED STRONG STORMS TODAY; HOT TEMPS CONTINUE… Much of the day will feature partly cloudy skies across south Alabama and northwest Florida. There could be a few isolated stronger thunderstorms today with downpours of rain being possible across the region. While the thermometer will read 92 or 93 degrees this afternoon in the middle of the day, that’s only half the story. Dewpoint values will be in excess of 70-75 degrees, meaning the heat index values will soar into the low-100s. The big takeaway: A very hot, humid day with scattered storms likely.

Storms should be less numerous across the region this afternoon and evening… Still will have a few seabreeze-induced storms. Be ready for isolated downpours! High temps near 93°. pic.twitter.com/LkSv1kPwLW

The Storm Prediction Center has included much of Alabama and northwest Florida in their Level 1 (out of 5) marginal risk zone to potentially see a few stronger storms today capable of damaging wind gusts. These will be pop-up storms… Not tornadic storms. pic.twitter.com/kbn4JOXaUW
