ISOLATED STORMS TODAY AND WEDNESDAY; COOLER AIR ARRIVES FRIDAY… Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible across parts of the local area on this Tuesday. The greatest chances of rain and storms, just like the last couple of days, will happen near the Alabama beaches and Mobile Bay. Rain chances are a bit higher in Mobile and Baldwin counties today compared to the rest of our counties in south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s across much of the region today.

UNSETTLED PATTERN THROUGH THURSDAY… Scattered thunderstorms will be possible today, tomorrow, and Thursday until a cold front pushes through our area and ushers in slightly cooler, drier air. There is about a 1 in 3 chance of your community having rain and thunderstorms around today and tomorrow and a slightly higher rain chance on Thursday. This will not be a situation where see a long form heavy rain event in most locations. Some communities, in fact, may remain dry for much of the next 2-3 days.

GORGEOUS WEATHER UPCOMING FOR THE WEEKEND… Skies clear on Friday afternoon ahead of a picture perfect early fall weekend across the region. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the low 80s on Friday and Saturday with morning lows in the mid to upper 50s for inland areas. Low 60s are likely as far south as the beaches and bays. It will be a beautiful weekend – perfect for any outdoor activities you have planned.

TROPICS: HIGH CHANCE OF TROPICAL STORM DEVELOPING IN ATLANTIC… The National Hurricane Center continues to suggest there is a high (70-80%) chance of a tropical storm developing in the central Atlantic Ocean as a tropical wave moves westward. Right now, the tropical wave is approaching the halfway point in the Atlantic between the western coast of Africa and the Lesser Antilles.

TROPICS: GULF & CARIBBEAN QUIET, FOR NOW… The Gulf and Caribbean Sea remain quiet with no tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days.
