VERY COLD TODAY; LOWS IN 10s AND LOW 20s TONIGHT; COLD WEEK AHEAD… High temperatures will struggle to get to the 40 degree mark on this Monday with most spots across the region likely to remain around 38-39° this afternoon. Any lingering clouds around this morning will clear out by lunchtime, most likely, and the afternoon should be completely sunny. Temperatures will dive below freezing at or shortly after 6PM this evening. Overnight lows will be in the 10s inland and in the low 20s down to the Alabama and northwest Florida coast by 6AM Tuesday. Tomorrow will feature high temperatures in the low to mid 40s with sunny skies. No rain (or snow) is expected through at least Friday locally.
NO PRECIPITATION THIS WEEK; LOW-END CHANCE OF RAIN SATURDAY… This will be a dry week with no rain or snow in the forecast through Friday. We note that a few snow showers may become possible Wednesday night into Thursday in parts of Tennessee and perhaps northeast Alabama and north Georgia. Locally, we have no snow in the forecast at this point. An area of low pressure will develop this weekend to our west and quickly dive south into the central Gulf. For now, it looks like our area will be far enough away from the area of low pressure to avoid any significant precipitation. A few rain showers may become possible near the coast Saturday. If this changes in the days ahead, I will let you know in the RedZone Weather app. It is extremely tough to forecast snow in the Deep South beyond 3 days out. Any pages claiming a “for sure” round of snow this weekend are engaging in clickbait and hype, plain and simple.
