MOSTLY CLOUDY TUESDAY; FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT… Increasingly cloudy skies are expected across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Tuesday. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the low 80s. A weak boundary will cause just enough instability to spark off a few showers overnight. Unfortunately, this won’t be a widespread rain. Our area definitely needs the rain as moderate to extreme drought conditions continue to worsen across the region.

WARM TEMPS LATER THIS WEEK… High temperatures will warm into the upper 80s by Friday ahead of cooler temperatures set to arrive on Saturday night into Sunday as a cold front moves in from the north. Afternoon highs on Sunday will drop back into the 70s with morning lows likely in the 40s by Monday morning.

LESS THAN 70 DAYS FROM THE START OF HURRICANE SEASON… The official start of the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season will happen 69 days from now on Monday, June 1. The first few tropical names this year: Arthur, Bertha, Cristobal, Dolly, Edouard, and Fay. NOAA continues to indicate that El Niño conditions are expected to develop as we move toward the peak of hurricane season. Typically, El Niño suppresses activity, somewhat, in the Atlantic Basin. It only takes one storm for a season to be memorable for a given area. Always good to have a hurricane prep kit ready to go. It’s also great to develop your hurricane safety plan long before the season begins!
