LARGE HAIL & DAMAGING WIND POSSIBLE IN SEVERE STORM MOVING EAST ACROSS N.W. FLORIDA… Severe thunderstorms capable of producing 60-70 mph wind gusts and large hail up to quarter size have prompted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for a large chunk of northern and central portions of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in northwest Florida. This warning includes McDavid, Molino, Walnut Hill, Jay, Brownsdale, New York, Chumuckla, Five Points, Allentown, Berrydale, Cobbtown,Whitfield, Allentown, Whiting Field, and Point Baker. Be inside if you’re in or near these places!

New York (FL), Chumuckla, Allentown, and Whiting Field are right in the middle of the greatest danger zone due to large hail and potentially damaging wind gusts.

Technically, Milton, Pea Ridge, and Pace are in the warning, but it very much looks like the bigger issues will remain to the north.

WATCH THIS STORM IF YOU ARE IN EASTERN SANTA ROSA AND OKALOOSA COUNTIES… A Severe Thunderstorm Warning will be needed IF this storm holds its strength in about 45 minutes as it moves into Okaloosa County. Crestview, Baker, Milligan, Duke Field, Deerland, Dorcas, Holt, and even Harold and Munson in the eastern parts of Santa Rosa County may go under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning if the storm holds its strength. Be ready to get inside quickly!

INLAND: NOISY STORMS AND BENEFICIAL RAINFALL… Further north from this severe storm in northwest Florida, we have beneficial rain happening in much of Washington, Clarke, Monroe, Conecuh, Butler, Covington, and Esambia (AL) counties. Storms are well under severe limits in these counties right now. Occasional loud claps of thunder will continue to be possible along with heavy downpours at times.
