SCATTERED STORMS THIS EVENING INTO TONIGHT; DRIER WEATHER STARTING TOMORROW… One more round of rain and thunderstorms (out of the many we have had over the last several days!) is expected this evening into tonight. Drier weather is expected starting tomorrow P.M. and extending for the remainder of the week and into the upcoming weekend. High temperatures will be in the low 80s. Temperatures will creep up a bit as we get into the latter part of the week with highs set to be in the upper 80s by Friday and Saturday.

WHAT TO EXPECT – THIS EVENING INTO TONIGHT… While the eastern half of our local area is technically involved in a low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk, I would tend to think most of the thunderstorms across our local area in south Alabama and northwest Florida will remain under severe limits. Gusty winds may accompany the strongest of the storms. Rain chances will begin to rise around 3-4PM with spotty showers and storms developing. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are likely as we get into the evening hours around 6-7PM. You’ll definitely want to keep tabs on the radar if you have outdoor plans as quite a bit of rain will be possible this evening. Rain chances will be greatest south of a line from Citronelle to Atmore to Brewton to Florala. If you’re south of those communities, closer to the coast, your rain chances will be quite high this evening, whereas if you’re north of those communities, showers will probably bit a bit more spotty in nature.

RAIN CLEARS OUT TOMORROW MORNING… Rain and storms will slowly taper overnight with a few showers being possible in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday. Skies will clear throughout the day on Tuesday and we will likely have mostly sunny skies in place by late in the day. Highs on Tuesday will again be in the low 80s.

SUNNY WEATHER WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY… Plenty of sunshine is expected for Wednesday and Thursday. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 80s each day with morning lows in the mid to upper 50s.

MOSTLY SUNNY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY; WARMER TEMPS… The big weather headline for our local area during the upcoming weekend will be the warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the upper 80s and there is an off chance that some communities briefly hit the 90 degree mark on Saturday. Mostly sunny conditions seem likely for Friday and into the upcoming weekend.
