WARM TUESDAY; SLIGHTLY HIGHER RAIN CHANCES LATER THIS WEEK… Another warm day is expected across the region on this Tuesday with afternoon highs set to reach the upper 80s and low 90s. Partly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day. Just like yesterday, a few, brief showers will be possible this evening. The high-res model guidance points to showers being most likely in parts of Covington, Okaloosa, and Walton counties on the eastern side of our region between 5PM and 8PM. I will have radar updates posted this evening, as needed, in the RedZone Weather app.

PATCHY AREAS OF FOG THIS MORNING… Patchy areas of dense fog are in progress in some communities across the region this morning. Fog will burn off by 8-9AM. Take it slow if you’re driving and encounter fog over the next hour or so.

WARM DAYS AND MILD NIGHTS UPCOMING… Afternoon high temperatures will consistently be in the upper 80s and around the 90 degree mark through Thursday. Highs will be in the 80s this weekend due to more pop-up showers and thunderstorms expected across the region. Overnight lows will be in the 60s over the next several nights.

SCATTERED STORMS POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND… Rain chances are expected to rise, somewhat, as we get into the upcoming weekend. A weak upper-level trough will usher in a more unsettled pattern Saturday and Sunday. The highest rain chances will happen along, north, and west of I-65. The weekend will not be a total washout by any stretch. There is a real chance the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches remain dry for much of the weekend.

TROPICS ARE QUIET; HURRICANE SEASON BEGINS JUNE 1… The National Hurricane Center started issuing the routine Tropical Weather Outlook on May 15. The Gulf, Caribbean, and Atlantic are not expected to support tropical storm formation over the next 5-7 days. The 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season will officially begin on Monday, June 1.
