MORE SPOTTY STORMS TODAY… It’s a “rinse and repeat” forecast today with more P.M. showers and thunderstorms being possible on this Thursday. There is about a 1 in 3 chance that your community has rain before the end of the day. Any storms that pop up will be capable of producing localized downpours of heavy rain, loud thunder, and cloud-to-ground lightning. Gusty winds will be possible in the strongest of the storms. High temperatures will be in the 90-94° range across the region. Looking ahead, a similar weather pattern will happen tomorrow and into the weekend.
SCATTERED, POP-UP STORMS FRIDAY AND INTO THE WEEKEND… Rain chances will be slightly more elevated on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Rain chances will be in the 30-50% chance range each day. Scattered, pop-up showers and thunderstorms are most likely to happen in the afternoon and evening hours. It certainly won’t be an all day rain event, but I am expecting more in the way of pop-up storms this weekend. High temperatures will be near the 90 degree mark.
MORE OF THE SAME INTO NEXT WEEK… Our seasonal, summer pattern continues into next week with no real forecast changes in sight. High temperatures will continue to be around the 90 degree mark with overnight lows in the 70s. At least some chance of spotty, P.M. showers and thunderstorms will exist each day.
TROPICS REMAIN QUIET… No tropical storms are expected to form over the next 5-7 days across the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, or the Gulf. Long range models continue to be remarkably quiet with no activity expected in the Gulf anytime soon. The climatological peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season happens on September 11. The 2026 hurricane season will end on November 30.
