PARTLY CLOUDY MONDAY; FEW P.M. SHOWERS POSSIBLE… Most communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida will remain dry on this Monday. A few highly isolated showers may happen this afternoon into this evening. Any showers that develop will be widely spaced and won’t last long for any given place. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s to low 80s. Winds will be breezy near the coast, with stronger gusts at the beaches. Looking ahead, we have increased rain chances coming up on Wednesday. The bulk of the rain will likely miss our region to the north, but scattered showers and storms will be possible on Wednesday into Wednesday night locally.

MORE CLOUDS AND ISOLATED P.M. SHOWERS AGAIN ON TUESDAY… High temperatures will again be in the upper 70s to low 80s tomorrow. A few showers will be possible during the day, but the more substantial increase in rain chances comes Tuesday night as our next weather system approaches. Rain becomes more likely overnight into Wednesday. Organized severe weather is not currently expected on Tuesday.

SCATTERED RAIN & STORMS WEDNESDAY INTO WED. NIGHT; ISOLATED STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE… Wednesday looks to be the wettest day of the week as an upper-level trough approaches and a cold front moves toward our area. Rain is likely at times, with scattered thunderstorms also possible. High temperatures will remain in the upper 70s to low 80s. Some rain and storms may linger into Wednesday night before the front moves through. The better combination of ingredients for organized strong storms currently looks to stay north of our local area. That should limit the overall severe weather potential locally, although an isolated stronger storm cannot be ruled out. There are still differences in the guidance concerning the path and speed of this system, so the exact timing and strong storm potential will need to be refined. There is a chance the Storm Prediction Center places part of our region in a low-end severe weather risk zone valid on Wednesday into Wednesday night.

TRENDING DRIER THURSDAY AND FRIDAY… Rain chances drop considerably Thursday behind the cold front, with only a few lingering showers possible. Friday looks mainly dry. Cooler, drier air will gradually filter into the region, with highs in the 70s on Thursday and the low 70s on Friday. Nights will become cooler as well, particularly heading into the weekend.

MOSTLY SUNNY & MILD THIS WEEKEND… The weekend currently looks favorable for outdoor plans, especially Saturday when rain chances are very low. Afternoon temperatures will be in the low to upper 70s Saturday, followed by low to mid 70s Sunday. A few showers may return Sunday, but rain chances remain low. Overall, this looks like a milder, much drier pattern compared to midweek.

BEACHES: RIP CURRENTS POSSIBLE TODAY… A High Risk of dangerous rip currents continues at Alabama and northwest Florida beaches today and Tuesday. Please stay out of the Gulf while these dangerous conditions persist.

TROPICS: ATLANTIC BASIN QUIET; ONE MONTH TILL HURRICANE SEASON ENDS… The National Hurricane Center is not highlighting any areas for tropical development across the Atlantic Basin. No tropical storms are expected to form in the Gulf, Caribbean Sea, or Atlantic Ocean over the next 7 days. We are now in the final month of the official Atlantic hurricane season, which ends on November 30.
