BEAUTIFUL WEATHER INTO THE WEEKEND… Isolated showers may happen tomorrow in the P.M. hours but I am expecting most spots to remain dry. Nice conditions are likely into the weekend. Highs will be in the low 90s later this week with morning lows in the upper 60s.

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL WEATHER DAY LOCALLY; NICE DAYS COMING UP… We have been quite spoiled over the last few days with humidity values running well below our climatological norms for this time of year. High temperatures today will creep upward ever so slightly. Most spots will peak in the upper 80s and low 90s. Rain will be possible well to our north across parts of northwest Alabama and north Mississippi AND well to our south in the central Gulf where a stalled frontal boundary is causing numerous showers and storms. Dry conditions will persist across south Alabama and northwest Florida today with lots of sunshine. Looking ahead, the Gulf is expected to remain quiet with no significant, organized tropical activity anytime soon.

TROPICAL UPDATE FOR THE GULF & CARIBBEAN… While not officially highlighted in the National Hurricane Center discussion, we are watching a stalled frontal boundary in the Gulf about 100-150 miles to our south that continues to cause scattered to numerous showers and storms to form. Sometimes, these frontal boundary can spin up tropical systems. While conditions are not exactly favorable for significant development, this is something I will be monitoring today and tomorrow.

GROWING CHANCE OF TROPICAL DEVELOPMENT IN EASTERN ATLANTIC… The Gulf and Caribbean are quiet with no tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days. The National Hurricane Center continues to monitor an area of concern in the eastern Atlantic Ocean where a tropical wave is moving westward near the Cabo Verde Islands. From NHC: “Environmental conditions are conducive for slow development of this system while it moves westward to west-northwestward at around 15 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic this week.” NHC has development probabilities at a 50-60% chance. Early model guidance hints at a recurving into the Atlantic but it is too early to know if that will happen for sure. I will continue to monitor trends and bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app.
