SUMMER PATTERN THIS WEEK: SCATTERED (MOSTLY P.M.) STORMS, HEAT, HUMIDITY… It doesn’t get more seasonal for early August across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Spotty, P.M. pop-up thunderstorms will be possible each day, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours. Today and tomorrow will, overall, likely be a bit drier compared to the latter part of the week. It certainly won’t rain all day as storms will be highly scattered in nature. Afternoon highs will consistently be in the low to mid 90s with morning lows in the low to mid 70s over the next few days.
TROPICAL UPDATE: ATLANTIC BASIN REMAINS QUIET… No tropical storms are expected to form over the next 5-7 days across the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, or the Gulf. Long range models continue to be remarkably quiet with no activity expected in the Gulf anytime soon. The climatological peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season happens on September 11.The 2026 hurricane season will end on November 30.
