SCATTERED STORMS THRU MIDDAY; MORE RAIN EXPECTED FRIDAY, SATURDAY, & SUNDAY… Thunderstorms continue to slowly move southeast across the region on this Thursday morning. The severe weather risk will continue near and just ahead of the storms, meaning our overall severe weather risk will drop to near zero by the afternoon or early evening hours. Overall, drier conditions are in store as we get into the evening hours. A few widely scattered sprinkles and showers may persist this evening, however, particularly closer to the coast. We have multiple waves of rain on the way for Friday and into the weekend.

LOW-END SEVERE WEATHER RISK… The Storm Prediction Center has parts of northwest Florida and the Florida Panhandle involved in the Level 2 (out of 5) severe weather risk over the next few hours, mainly driven by a potential for gusty winds. The overall tornado risk over the next few hours is low, but it is not zero. Have a way to hear warnings over the next few hours.

WET AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… Rain and thunderstorms will be likely at times from Friday through Monday morning as upper-level atmospheric disturbances move by our region. This will be a beneficial rain setup for much of the region with 1-4″ being likely. Isolated higher rain amounts are possible. IF storms train over the same areas, flash flooding could become a concern.

RAIN POSSIBLE MONDAY MORNING; DRIER IN EVENING… Monday will serve as a transition day of sorts as scattered showers will be possible in the morning hours. Skies will begin to clear around midday Monday ahead of drier conditions likely by the evening hours. Afternoon highs on Monday will be in the low 80s.

NICE WEATHER MIDWEEK… Mostly sunny skies are expected for Tuesday and Wednesday. Afternoon highs will be in the 80s with morning lows in the 60s. Our next rain chance after Monday will likely happen around Friday of the upcoming week.
