DRIEST DAY OF THE WEEK TODAY (THURSDAY); HIGHER RAIN CHANCES THIS WEEKEND… Partly cloudy skies near the coast and mostly sunny skies inland are expected across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday. Today will likely be the driest day overall in the next 7 days with rain chances expected to rise this weekend. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s today.
LOW-END CHANCE OF A FEW SHOWERS FRIDAY… Partly cloudy skies are expected on Friday with low-end (0-10%) rain chances. Most locales across the region will remain completely dry on Friday. High temperatures will be in the mid 80s across the region.
RAIN CHANCES INCREASE THIS WEEKEND… Scattered, pop-up P.M. showers and thunderstorms seem likely to make a return as we get into Saturday and Sunday. It will not rain all day on Saturday or Sunday, but pop-up showers and storms will be possible, mostly in the afternoon and evening hours. Widespread severe storms are highly unlikely but all of the storms that develop will be capable of producing heavy pockets of rain, loud thunder, and cloud-to-ground lightning. High temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 80s this weekend with morning lows expected to be in the upper 60s.
TROPICS QUIET… The Gulf, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean remain quiet with no tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days. The climatological peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season happens in mid-September. Hurricane season ends on November 30.
