MORE SCATTERED STORMS TODAY; LOWER RAIN CHANCES THIS WEEKEND… Spotty showers and thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day on this Thursday across south Alabama and northwest Florida. I am not expecting an “all day washout” in any given community, but we will have intermittent storms around at times. High temperatures will be in the low 90s today. Lower rain chances are on the way for the weekend ahead of the hottest week of the year so far next week.

DRIER & HOTTER THIS WEEKEND… Partly cloudy skies and lower rain chances are expected on Saturday and Sunday. We’ll call it a 10% chance of rain on both days with most communities expected to remain dry. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s.

HOT, HUMID CONDITIONS NEXT WEEK WITH LOWER RAIN CHANCES… The week of the 4th of July will be mainly dry and QUITE hot across the region. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 90s with heat index values in the 103-108° range. The oppressive heat and humidity is expected to last all week and into the 4th of July weekend.

TROPICS: QUIET, FOR NOW… The Gulf, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean continue to be quiet with no tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days. The climatological peak of hurricane season happens on September 11.

See all the details in your Thursday RedZone Weather forecast video. My next forecast video will be posted by 7:15AM tomorrow morning. I will have updates posted throughout the day, as needed, in the RedZone Weather app.

Have a nice Thursday!
