SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS TODAY AND IN DAYS AHEAD… Today will be a classic summer day across south Alabama and northwest Florida with plenty of heat, plenty of humidity, and spotty, pop-up showers and thunderstorms being possible. Widespread severe weather is not expected today but downpours, cloud-to-ground lightning, loud thunder, and even gusty winds in the strongest of the storms will be possible this afternoon into this evening.
SPOTTY P.M. STORMS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS… Scattered thunderstorms will be possible in each of the next 7 days. There will be a diurnal pattern involved, meaning most of the storms will happen in the afternoon and evening hours. Rain chances will ramp up a bit tomorrow ahead of slightly lower rain chances later this week.
TROPICAL UPDATE… The Gulf, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean are quiet with no new tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days. Climatologically speaking, tropical activity ramps up in the month of August ahead of a peak in activity in the month of September. The 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season will officially end on November 30.
