FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE TODAY; COOLER, DRIER AIR ARRIVES TONIGHT; WINDY SATURDAY… Isolated, brief showers may be possible today but most communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida are expected to remain dry. Warm temperatures will happen today but we have a big change in temperatures arriving tonight. High temperatures today will be in the 84-89° range with a mix of sunshine and clouds. Most communities will remain dry, although a few showers will be possible across the region. A cold front crosses the region this evening, bringing much cooler air for the weekend. Breezy conditions with a wind out of the northwest are likely this evening into tonight. Wind gusts of 30-40 mph will be possible on Saturday afternoon into the early evening hours.
ISOLATED SHOWERS POSSIBLE TODAY INTO THIS EVENING… The greatest chance of an isolated shower today will be near the northwest Florida coast, where rain chances top out around a 20% chance. Rain chances become even lower tonight as the cold front moves through. This will primarily be a temperature change rather than a significant rain event.
COOL, DRY AIR INVADES THE AREA TONIGHT; CHILLY START ON SATURDAY… Cooler, drier air will spread across the region behind the cold front tonight. Temperatures will fall into the 50s by daybreak Saturday, making for a noticeably cooler start to the day. You may want a light jacket if you will be outside early tomorrow morning.
CLOUDS MOVE OUT TOMORROW MORNING; QUITE WINDY… Saturday looks nice for outdoor plans with dry weather expected across the region. Afternoon highs will only reach the upper 60s to low 70s, compared to the 80s today. Quite a difference in just one day! I am concerned about the potential for 20-30 mph sustained winds at times with gusts as high as 30-40 mph being possible, mainly Saturday P.M. Windy conditions will subside Saturday night.
COOL DAYS, CHILLY NIGHTS UPCOMING… The cooler weather sticks around through Sunday, when afternoon highs will again be in the upper 60s to low 70s. Overnight lows Saturday night and Sunday night will range from the upper 40s in the coolest inland locations to the low 60s in warmer spots. Chilly mornings and comfortable afternoons are ahead for the weekend.
DRY WEATHER CONTINUES INTO NEXT WEEK… Mostly dry weather will continue next week as temperatures gradually rebound. Highs will reach the low to mid 70s Monday, followed by upper 70s Tuesday and upper 70s to low 80s Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances remain very low overall, with no substantial rain event showing up in the 7 Day Forecast.
TROPICS: GULF, CARIBBEAN, ATLANTIC QUIET… The National Hurricane Center is not highlighting any areas for potential tropical development in the Gulf or Caribbean Sea over the next 7 days. Hurricane season will end on November 30.
