NICE WEDNESDAY; SCATTERED RAIN & STORMS RETURN THIS WEEKEND… Nice weather will continue on this Wednesday across south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s and low 80s this afternoon. High pressure will keep our weather dry through Friday before scattered showers and thunderstorms return this weekend. For now, severe weather parameters remain low, but we are seeing indications that some communities may pick up 1-2″ of total rain, particularly communities further inland.
DRY, NICE THURSDAY… High temperatures will be in the 79-83° range tomorrow with dry conditions continuing across the region. A strong area of high pressure will remain in place, keeping our next meaningful rain chance on hold for a few more days. Overall, Thursday looks nice for outdoor plans.
MAINLY DRY, WARM FRIDAY… Friday will be warm and mainly dry with afternoon temperatures near 80°. Rain chances remain very low during the day, with only a small chance of a shower Friday night ahead of the wetter weekend pattern. If you’re headed to the Alabama or northwest Florida beaches, a High Risk of rip currents is expected Friday.
RAIN CHANCES SPIKE SATURDAY… Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms become possible Saturday. An approaching upper-level disturbance will help bring rain back into the forecast. This does not look like continuous, all-day rain, but outdoor plans will have a greater chance of being interrupted compared to the next few days. High temperatures will remain near 80°. There is a growing chance that trick-or-treat festivities across the region may be wet, particularly for places north of US84 in south Alabama.
SCATTERED RAIN & STORMS LIKELY SATURDAY NIGHT… Saturday night looks to feature the highest rain chances of the weekend, generally around a 50-60% chance. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible, including during the evening hours. If you have outdoor plans Saturday night, keep the rain chance in mind, although the exact timing of showers in any one community remains uncertain.
FEW SHOWERS SUNDAY AS WELL… Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will remain possible Sunday as the upper-level disturbance moves to our northeast. Rain chances will be around 30-40% during the day before decreasing Sunday night. Temperatures will remain mild with afternoon highs near 80°.
LINGERING SHOWERS POSSIBLE INTO NEXT WEEK… Monday looks considerably drier, with most communities likely to remain rain-free during the day. A few showers may become possible Monday night before rain chances increase to around 20-30% Tuesday as another upper-level disturbance approaches the central states. High temperatures will remain in the upper 70s to low 80s early next week.
TROPICS: ATLANTIC BASIN QUIET… The Gulf, Caribbean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean remain quiet with no active named storms or disturbances highlighted for development. No tropical development is expected anywhere across the Atlantic Basin during the next 7 days. The official Atlantic hurricane season continues through November 30.
