RAIN & WIND AT TIMES TODAY; COLDER AIR ARRIVES TONIGHT… Rain will be possible at times over the next couple of hours as a band of showers continues pushing east across the local area. Rain clears out this afternoon but windy conditions are expected to persist throughout the afternoon and into the evening hours. Sustained winds will be in the 10-20 mph range with gusts as high as 25 to 30 mph. Windy conditions should diminish somewhat tonight ahead of another breezy day tomorrow. High temperatures today will range from the low 60s further inland to the mid 70s near the coast. Highs tomorrow will only be in the low to mid 60s.

CLEARING SKIES ON THURSDAY… Clouds will probably hang tough tomorrow morning ahead of clearing skies later in the day. High temperatures on Thursday will be in the low to mid 60s across south Alabama and northwest Florida.

LOWS IN THE 30s TOMORROW NIGHT… Thursday night and Friday night will be the coldest mornings our local area has had in quite some time. Most locales further inland will dip into the upper 30s with low 40s as far south as I-10. Beach communities will likely be in the mid 40s tomorrow night.

NICE WEATHER FRIDAY AND SATURDAY… Sunny skies are expected on Friday and Saturday with highs near the 70 degree mark. Friday evening will have temperatures in the 50s with clear skies.

HURRICANE MELISSA BATTERS JAMAICA; CUBA, THE BAHAMAS ENDURING IMPACTS TODAY… Hurricane Warnings continues for parts of eastern Cuba and the southeastern and central Bahamas as the core of Hurricane Melissa continues to push northeastward. A Tropical Storm Warning continues for Camaguey (Cuban province), the Turks & Caicos, and Haiti. Melissa will cause impacts in Bermuda tomorrow into tomorrow night. Rapid movement of Melissa toward the northeast will continue over the next few days across the Atlantic Ocean.
