CLEARING SKIES & COOL TODAY; FREEZING TEMPS OVERNIGHT… Lingering showers will continue to move east and away from south Alabama and northwest Florida over the next few hours. The high temperature has already happened in many spots across the region on this Tuesday. Temperatures will “go the wrong way” all day. Most locations will be in the 50s this morning, falling into the 40s this afternoon into this evening. We have a cold night ahead with many communities expected to have overnight lows at or just below the freezing mark. Another rain event will happen later this week, specifically on Thursday, Friday, into Saturday morning.
DRY WEDNESDAY AHEAD OF SHOWERS ON THURSDAY… Skies will remain partly cloudy tomorrow morning ahead of mostly sunny skies in the afternoon hours. Sunshine won’t last long, however, as we have another rain event shaping up on Thursday. Afternoon highs on Wednesday will struggle to get to the 60 degree mark, meaning most of us across the region will be in the mid to upper 50s. Rain coverage will considerably increase on Thursday when scattered showers will again become possible. Highs on Thursday will be in the low to mid 50s.
HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE AT TIMES FRIDAY & SATURDAY… An additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, on top of the rain that our area experienced last evening, is expected on Friday into Saturday as multiple disturbances move across the Deep South. Scattered to numerous showers are likely throughout the day on Thursday, Thursday night, and into Friday. For now, the overall risk of severe storms seems rather low due to the lack of atmospheric instability.
DRIER AND MILDER ON SUNDAY INTO MONDAY… We will finally have a few days of sunshine starting on Sunday. Afternoon highs on Sunday and Monday will be in the low 60s with partly cloudy skies each day. Another rain event may set up toward the middle part of the upcoming week.
