PARTLY CLOUDY MONDAY; A FEW SHOWERS WEDNESDAY… Clouds around this morning will gradually give way to mostly sunny skies this afternoon into the early evening hours on this Monday. Afternoon high temperatures will be about ten degrees above our climatological norms for this time of year with most communities reaching the mid 70s by 3PM. Overnight lows will be around the 50 degree mark by daybreak on Tuesday. Our next rain chance happens late tomorrow night into Wednesday as a few isolated showers become possible.
WARMER TEMPS THIS WEEK… Unlike the last several weeks that have featured temperatures below our winter norms, this week will be much more mild. High temperatures by Wednesday may even be considered warm by mid-winter standards with afternoon highs likely to be in the upper 70s. This mild pattern will continue throughout the week and into the upcoming weekend.
SHOWERS POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY… A few highly isolated rain showers will be possible on Wednesday. Greater rain chances will likely happen in areas to our north across parts of north Mississipi and north Alabama. These showers will be happening as an area of low pressure passes to our north.
RAIN & STORMS POSSIBLE AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… We’re 5-6 days out from the next weather system that has at least some potential of producing thunderstorms across parts of the Deep South. Some model guidance has hinted at the possibility of a few severe storms being involved, but it is too early for any specifics. For now, I am expecting a rain chance late Saturday into Sunday. Further forecast changes will be possible over the next few days.
