BEAUTIFUL MONDAY; STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY… Sunny skies are in store for south Alabama and northwest Florida throughout the day on this Monday. High temperatures will be near the 80 degree mark today. Overnight lows tonight will be about 10-15 degrees below our climatological norms for early May. We’ll be in the mid to upper 40s inland with low 50s near the coast by 6AM tomorrow. Active weather returns on Wednesday into Wednesday night. A few showers may be possible Wednesday evening ahead of a round of strong to severe storms being possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Our pattern will remain active into the upcoming weekend with multiple chances of beneficial rain.
NICE WEATHER ON TUESDAY… After a chilly start with lows in the 40s and 50s, temperatures rebound into the low to mid 80s by 3PM on Tuesday. Mostly sunny skies are likely throughout the day.
SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE TO OUR NORTH AND WEST ON WEDNESDAY… We note that severe thunderstorms will be possible in areas to our north on Wednesday during the daytime hours. The Storm Prediction Center has included much of west Alabama and much of Mississippi in their Level 2 (out of 5) severe weather risk valid for Wednesday.
FEW SHOWERS WEDNESDAY EVENING… Wednesday morning is expected to be dry ahead of a few showers becoming possible after 2PM. Showers will be spotty in nature on Wednesday evening ahead of the more organized round of rain and storms becoming possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE WED. NIGHT INTO THURSDAY… Scattered strong to severe storms will be possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and perhaps a few tornadoes are the concerns.
UNSETTLED PATTERN TO CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND… Multiple waves of rain and perhaps a few thunderstorms will be possible Thursday, Friday, into Saturday. A stalled frontal boundary will create a zone where multiple disturbances are expected to bring scattered showers and storms to the area.
