Who has been outside in the brutal northwest, freezing cold wind over the last hour? Been a LONG time since I’ve felt that cold going out to check the mail.

COLD DAYS AND NIGHTS AHEAD… High temperatures will be in the 40s through Thursday with overnight lows in the 20s.
Rain is expected at times on Friday into early Saturday. For now, looks like all of the snow/mixed precipitation will remain well to our north.
BITTERLY COLD AIR MOVING IN; P.M. TEMPS IN 30s; WIND CHILL IN 10s TUE. MORNING… Very cold air continues to advance into south Alabama and northwest Florida behind a powerful cold front on this Monday. Air temperatures will be “going the wrong way” all day. This means our technical high temperature has already happened and temperatures will be declining throughout the day. We’ll be in the 30s across the region this afternoon with wind chill values in the 20s – yes, this afternoon. Temperatures will dive below the freezing mark this evening with overnight lows in the 20s by 6AM tomorrow.
COLD DAYS & VERY COLD NIGHTS AHEAD… Cold temperatures are expected to persist throughout the week. High temperatures will consistently be in the 40s over the next several days with morning lows below the freezing mark consistently through Friday morning. Wind chill values overnight will be in the 10s in many spots.
HIGH CONFIDENCE SYSTEM LATER THIS WEEK WILL FEATURE ALL RAIN LOCALY; NO SNOW… An area of low pressure is expected to develop across the northwestern Gulf of Mexico later this week. This system may bring snow and mixed precipitation to parts of Tennessee and perhaps even north Alabama. Confidence is now high, however, that temperatures will be too warm to support snow or mixed precipitation across south Alabama or northwest Florida. We still have a few days between now and this event, so changes ARE possible. Trends, however, have been very much in favor of rain and no snow locally. It will be a cold, miserable rain, to be quite frank. High temperatures on Friday will be in the 40s in many spots.
