BECOMING CLOUDY LATER TODAY; SPOTTY SHOWERS & STORMS OVERNIGHT… Mostly sunny skies this morning will give way to increasingly cloudy skies as we get into the afternoon and evening hours. High temperatures on this Wednesday will be in the low 80s in many spots across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Spotty showers will become possible as we get into the evening hours. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible overnight as a cold front moves across the region. Widespread severe weather is NOT expected with this system locally. We do not have any type of formal severe weather risk zone in place for south Alabama or northwest Florida. Don’t be surprised by some thunder but most spots will simply have rain at times tonight.

CLEARING SKIES TOMORROW; GORGEOUS FEW DAYS UPCOMING… Skies will probably quickly clear out tomorrow morning, meaning the daytime hours of Thursday should be nice. Temperatures will be much cooler than today with highs only peaking in the low 60s tomorrow. You may need a jacket throughout the day as we will have a northwest wind at 5-15 mph at times. Highs on Friday will be in the upper 60s with plenty of sunshine throughout the day.

NICE, MILD WEEKEND… High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s on both Saturday and Sunday with mostly sunny skies all day Saturday and on Sunday morning. A few clouds will be possible as we get into Sunday with showers being possible after sunset. While our weekend will be quite nice locally, we note that parts of east Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and western Mississippi are involved in a severe weather risk valid on Sunday into Sunday night.

RAIN & STORMS AT TIMES ON MONDAY… Scattered thunderstorms become likely across the region on Monday. For now, there are several limiting factors suggesting any severe weather threat that materializes will probably be quite limited. Regardless, expect rain at times on Monday with thunderstorms also being possible. We will need to watch the guidance carefully as this event approaches as we are in the thick of our primary severe weather season.

RAIN LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT… Showers will be possible Wednesday night. Can’t completely rule out a few rumbles of thunder. No severe weather is expected. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s today and tomorrow. Cooler temps on Thursday. Lows in the mid 30s on Friday!

BEAUTIFUL TUESDAY; FEW SHOWERS & STORMS TOMORROW NIGHT… Today will be about ten degrees warmer than yesterday with most spots across south Alabama and northwest Florida expected to have highs in the mid to upper 70s. Sunny skies are expected this morning with mostly sunny skies this afternoon. A few passing clouds are not completely out of the question into the evening hours. Our next chance of rain happens tomorrow night as a cold front moves through. The upcoming weekend will probably be dry for most communities with only a low-end chance of a few showers. Thunderstorms will be possible on Monday into Tuesday of the upcoming week.

DRY WEDNESDAY; RAIN AT TIMES WEDNESDAY NIGHT… Tomorrow will be a dry day with highs again in the mid to upper 70s. Some spots may briefly hit 80 degrees tomorrow afternoon. Showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible at times across south Alabama and northwest Florida on Wednesday night as a cold front crosses the region from northwest to southeast. Severe storms are not expected across south Alabama or northwest Florida. You may hear some thunder at times, however.

LOW-END SEVERE WEATHER RISK TO OUR NORTH WED. INTO WED. NIGHT…There is a low-end chance of a few strong storms across parts of northwest Alabama and north Mississippi tomorrow into tomorrow night. Any storms that ramp up to strong or marginally severe levels will be capable of producing gusty winds. The low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) risk includes Livingston, Tuscaloosa, Jasper, Cullman, Huntsville, Decatur, Moulton, Florence, Muscle Shoals, Russellville, Marion, Fayette, Aliceville, and Double Springs. The low-end risk also includes Meridian (MS), Starkville (MS), Columbus (MS), Oxford (MS), Jackson (TN), and Nashville (TN). Widespread severe storms are not expected in these communities but a few strong storms can’t completely be ruled out.

COOLER TEMPS THURSDAY; FROST POSSIBLE FRIDAY MORNING… We will have a brief cool down on Thursday with highs only expected to be in the mid 60s. Friday morning will be the chilliest morning in the next 7 days with overnight lows in the mid to upper 30s. It does not appear temperatures will get down to the freezing mark, but I can’t completely rule out some patchy frost.

MOSTLY DRY THIS WEEKEND… Rain chances are not at zero this weekend, but I expect most communities to remain dry. Highs will be in the upper 70s on both Saturday and Sunday.

STORMS POSSIBLE MONDAY… Our next chance of thunderstorms happens on Monday, March 24 as a frontal boundary approaches from the northwest. We note the Storm Prediction Center has included areas to our northwest in a severe weather outlook zone valid on Sunday. That zone does not include any part of Alabama or northwest Florida. We could have a few strong to severe storms around on Monday, but it is far too early for any specifics. We will be in the peak of our severe weather season through early May, thus systems coming through and prompting the risk of severe storms this time of year are completely normal.
