LULL IN SEVERE ACTIVITY, FOR NOW… Excellent summary about the lull in severe activity we are currently experiencing from @NWSMobile… I’m copying in some of the text: There will be a temporary lull in thunderstorm intensity as the initial shortwave lifts off to the north with large scale ascent weakening behind the first wave.
A secondary shortwave near the Texas/Louisiana border will continue to lift northeast with large scale lift increasing again later this evening. Storms should gradually increase in intensity later this evening as the wave moves east into our forecast area.
Bottom line: Don’t become complacent and let your guard down. We have a long way to go tonight! We’ll be with you every step of the way as will the folks at NWS Mobile. They’re watching radar trends like a hawk and ready to issues warnings when needed.
Current Significant Tornado (STP) values on the left vs. projected values 6 hours from now on right.
Bottom line: We're in for a long few hours until this whole mess clears.
Not every community will have a tornado. Most, in fact, won't. Where tornadoes form – big issues! pic.twitter.com/MXUMFt9SqQ
