Severe Thunderstorm Warning till 6:30PM for Huxford, Vocation, Goodway, Megargal, Frisco City, Excel, Repton, Range, Lenox, & Halls Crossroads.

SEVERE STORM NEAR MT. VERNON… Half dollar size hail will be possible near Mount Vernon and U.S. Highway 43 in northern Mobile County shortly as a severe storm moves east. We encourage no travel on US43 from near the AM/NS Calvert plant southward to the Bucks community.
STRONG STORM NEAR POARCH… Loud storms are also happening just north of Atmore in western Escambia County, Alabama near Poarch. These storms are moving northeast toward Huxford, McCullough, Wallace, Vocation, Barnett Crossroads, and Kelley State Park. These storms are capable of producing penny-sized hail and gusty winds up to 50 mph.
STRONG STORM NEAR WING… Storms are also happening near the Alabama-Florida state line near Wing, AL and Good Hope, FL in northern Okaloosa County. These storms will basically move east right along the state line toward Laurel Hill, Lockhart, and Florala over the next 30-45 minutes.
If you are close enough to a storm to be able to hear thunder, get inside! More storms will likely develop over the next several hours.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning till 6PM for NW corner of Mobile County, AL. This includes Mt. Vernon, Chastang, Bucks, and Movico. Half dollar size hail is the concern, particularly near US43 shortly.

SCATTERED STORMS PUSHING EAST… Heavy downpours of rain are happening near Citronelle, Mt. Vernon, Poarch, Little Rock, Atmore, Escambia Farms, and Georgiana as of 5:10PM.
Widespread severe storms are not expected but some of the storms may ramp up and produce gusty winds and small hail.
Scattered thunderstorms continue to pop up across the region this evening. Heavy rain is happening near Citronelle, Atmore, Poarch, Munson, McKenzie, Wawbeek, and Georgiana.

GUSTY WINDS POSSIBLE… The Storm Prediction Center has added a low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk for inland areas of south Alabama valid for today into this evening. This risk zone is driven by a low-end chance of a few stronger storms producing gusty winds and perhaps some hail cores in the strongest of the storms. The overall tornado risk remains very, very low.
SCATTERED RAIN & STORMS LATER TODAY… Rain chances are slated to increase this afternoon into this evening. Temperatures will be in the low-80s for afternoon highs.
