SCATTERED STORMS TODAY; DRIER, WARMER DAYS AHEAD… Scattered rain and thunderstorms in progress across parts of our area this morning will give way to drier conditions later this afternoon into this evening. High temperatures will again be in the mid-80s on this last day of April. Widespread severe storms are not expected locally today, but a few rumbles of thunder can’t be ruled out. We dry out later today into tonight with the next few days likely to be dry and quite warm.

FEW STORMS TODAY; NOT EVERY COMMUNITY TO HAVE RAIN… Spotty showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible through 3PM, particularly if you’re along the eastern side of our region in parts of Butler, Covington, and Okaloosa counties. Not every locale across the region will have rain before the end of the day today. I will have radar updates posted over the next several hours, as needed, in the RedZone Weather app.

TEMPERATURES NEAR 90 DEGREES WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY… Tomorrow and Thursday will likely be the warmest days of the year so far with some communities briefly hitting the 90 degree mark. Skies will be mostly sunny on both Wednesday and Thursday.

FEW STORMS AROUND THIS WEEKEND… The weekend forecast will feature partly cloudy skies on Saturday and Sunday with low-end (not zero) rain chances each day. A few pop-up showers and thunderstorms may become possible, primarily in the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday and on Sunday. High temperatures will be in the 80s with morning lows in the low- to mid-60s.
