PERFECT WEATHER TODAY; STORMS MIDWEEK… Our picture perfect weather continues today and tomorrow across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Happy Easter to you and to your family! High temperatures today will peak around 3PM near 81° in most spots. Rain and storms are likely to return to our area late Tuesday into Wednesday due to the passage of a cold front. Another, separate cold front will sweep through the area on Saturday, ushering in yet another chance of rain and storms. Let’s talk specifics…
NICE THROUGH TUESDAY… It’s all sunshine on this Easter Sunday, but you’ll notice cloud cover increasing tonight and on Monday. Overnight lows will be around 54° by daybreak Monday with temperatures rising to near 81° on Monday afternoon. No rain is expected until Tuesday.
RAIN TUESDAY & STORMS WEDNESDAY… Our next cold front will pass through the area late Tuesday into Wednesday. There are still timing discrepancies in the model data, so I can’t be specific just yet as to when the greatest rain chance will be. Models have been fairly consistent in painting this event as pretty tranquil compared to the last few fronts that have moved through, so for now, we’re not expecting severe weather issues. The big takeaway is that rain and isolated thunderstorms are likely late Tuesday into Wednesday.
MORE RAIN/STORMS THIS WEEKEND… Thursday looks to be nice, sunny, and cool. Our weather pattern quickly shifts on Friday in response to the approach of yet another cold front. Clouds will increase yet again on Friday ahead of a significant rain chance on Saturday. Still too early to say whether or not severe weather issues will be prevalent locally with this system, but it is April in the Deep South, meaning we must be diligent in monitoring each front that passes by. We’re in the peak of primary severe weather season through the first week in May. Many of the Deep South’s worst tornado outbreaks have happened in the month of April.
